The table below shows the emissions standards of all LEZs, grouped by country then city. This can help you decide what emissions standard your new or altered vehicle needs to be if you travel around Europe.

All LEZs on this website have been confirmed by the authorities as being definitely in planning or operation.

Some LEZ in Germany and most LEZ in Italy have in (brackets) an indication of the region or province, after the Country name

It should also be noted that parts of Lombardia are covered only via the Lombardia map. You can also Search for any city using the Search box above.

Key

• Standard Start in Bold & green = currently in operation.
  
• Country and Diesel standard in pale purple = Date and standard replaced by another, look at following row(s) for current standard
  
• End-date in Bold & Purple = Italian Winter LEZ now suspended but may/will re-start next Autumn - see either following row, or the LEZ is likely to be the same as the previous year, and will be confirmed as soon as possible.
  
• GVW(T) is Gross Vehicle Weight (in tonnes). Where a number is given it indicates that vehicles over that weight are covered by the LEZ (e.g. 3.5 indicates that vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are covered).
• An emissions standard of e.g. Euro 3(PM) means that the particulate emissions standard must be met for that Euro standard vehicle. This can be done by fitting a diesel particulate filter to a vehicle of an earlier Euro standard. Different countries have different requirements, see here or the individual city page for more details.
• In some cases there is an end date given for the LEZ standards. This is almost always followed by a stricter standard starting from that end date, shown on the following line.
• Where an LEZ is planned, but has not set a firm start date, an approximate date is given in this table, marked with Est. An Est marking is also used if the LEZ has a likely but not confirmed start date. Please refer to the city page itself for more exact information.
