Dates and Standards The LEZ has been in place since 1st February 2009. . - From 1 July 2010 Euro 4 or have a certified particulate filter fitted Vehicles affected Heavy Duty vehicles (buses and lorries) over 3.5Tonnes. What is the LEZ boundary  In Aalborg, the environmental zone will be demarcated by the Østre Allé Ring Way and Limfjorden with a transit route via the Limfjord Bridge. The transit route will ensure that vehicles have an alternative to motorway E45, when they are crossing Limfjorden at Aalborg. Click here for a list of roads covered by the LEZ in Aalborg. LEZ Road sign  Need to Register? Danish vehicles need to have an LEZ sticker in the windscreen. Foreign vehicles need to carry the information stated below to prove they meet the emissions standards. Foreign Vehicles? What to bring: You will need to prove that your vehicle meets the Euro 4 standard, as a minimum. - If your vehicle was registered after 1 October 2006, you need only bring the vehicle’s registration certificate. - If your vehicle meets the Euro 4 standard, but was purchased before 1 October 2006, this must be stated on the vehicle’s registration certificate. If it is not stated, you need to bring additional documentation. This may be an invoice or a certificate from a motor vehicle inspector. - Or prove that you have a certified particulate filter fitted – see below. A particulate filter must meet the standards set out above. You must also bring documentation that the filter meets these requirements. The documentation must have been issued within the last 18 months, and it must be in Danish, Swedish, English, German or French. Retrofitting allowed?: Yes Retrofitting Summary See national standards above. The particulate filter must meet the requirements below: The maximum back pressure allowed from the particle filter is 20 kPa at maximum engine power. The particle filter must reduce the exhaust of particles by at least 80%, calculated according to the applicable EU methods. At constant use, the particle filter must ensure that the gas density after the filter measured at free acceleration does not exceed a K-value of 0.2 m-1. OR, the vehicle must be fitted with a particle filter that is approved by the Danish authorities, see our retrofitting section for more details. Penalty The cost is yet to be set by the Danish courts, but is expected to be in the same range as the price of particulate filters – up to €10 000.
