| There are three LEZs, for motorcycles, coaches and goods vehicles. Dates and Standards - City All motorcycles - Euro 1 Coaches Coaches two LEZ areas, ZTL1 and ZTL2. ZTL1 bus minimum standard Euro 3 ZTL2 bus minimum standard Euro 2 There is also a reduction on permits for cleaner coaches: 10% for Euro 4 until 31.12.2012, 30% on Euro 5 until 31.12.2013 and 50% for electric, CNG and LPG. From 1.1.2012 ZTL2 bus minimum standard Euro 3 From 1.1.2013 ZTL1 bus minimum standard Euro 4 From 1.1.2014 ZTL2 bus minimum standard Euro 4 Goods vehicles: This LEZ is in two parts: The numbers of access, circulation and parking permits to the central restriction area (ZTL Centro Storico and ZTL Trastevere) are limited by Euro standard. From 31/12/2011 there are no permit foreseen for Euro 1 From 31/12/2013 none for Euro 2 vehicles From 31/12/2014 none for Euro 3 vehicles. For the Goods vehicles, in the area of the 'Trastevere' and 'Merci' (lorry) LEZs: From 1.11.11: Euro 1 vehicles, petrol and diesel, will not have access From 01/07/2012: Euro 2 and 3 lorries cannot have access from 7:00 to 10:00 and 16:00 to 20:00; From 01/07/2013 Euro 4 lorries cannot have access from 17:30 to 20:00; From 01/07/2014 Euro 5 lorries cannot have access from 17:30 to 20:00; From 01/07/2015: Euro 6 lorries cannot have access from 17:30 to 20:00; Electric, LPG, CNG, hybrids and bimodal lorries have no restrictions Euro 2 vehicles, petrol and diesel, will have access until 31/10/2012, however permits will expire on the date to 31/10/2011, without the right to a refund Vehicles affected- city Goods vehicles, Motorcycles & Coaches What is the LEZ boundary - City For Motorcycles: ![]() Key: purple area (Z.T.L. - Anello Ferroviario) marks the motorcycle-based LEZ, the orange central area is pedestrian during the day, so bans all vehicles. For goods vehicles: Covering the Historic Central (centro storico) and Trastevere areas For Coaches: ZTL1 bus (area within Mura Aureliane (Aurelian Walls): The town hall and Prati) ZTL2 bus (Comunal land within the GRA and the end of all Mura Aureliane (Aurelian Walls)).
