For most LEZs, it is possible to fit an abatement device or modify the vehicle to reduce its emissions.

Possible modifications can include (depending on what is allowed for that LEZ):

The LEZ will require proof that the equipment fitted achieves the required emission standards, and that equipment fitted has been approved by a recognised authority as meeting the required emission standards.
